Casinos Without Walls - Handhelds are emerging in the U.S. gaming market whereas Internet Gambling is still prohibited

The Internet, which allows gamblers to play anytime and anywhere, has fed a mania for poker. The World Series of Poker has taken place in Las Vegas such as every year in July 2005 - the biggest and most exciting card games tournament. Although illegal gaming and betting is emerging in the United States there is still a large number of questions in the field of Electronic Gaming that remain unsolved.
The NYT most recently dealt with a new generation of online and local area network games. There are several aspects of Electronic Gambling that are caused by the US federal law prohibiting internet gaming. In the state of Nevada where the largest and most expensive casinos of the world are situated in Las Vegas, the state attorney came to the finding that the local casinos where not allowed to enter the Internet Gambling market. Specific new and complicated legal problems had to be solved until the way to Electronic Gambling by handhelds inside the Casino area was found. Except in the hotel rooms and lobbies where minors could be in peril it is now legal to provide Electronic Gambling also outside of the gamin rooms in Las Vegas e.g. beside the swimming pool or in special chill-out rooms.
As a matter of fact there are companies providing internet games against law and making a lot of money with U.S. resident gamblers despite the federal ban of internet gambling. Potential illegalities are a centerpiece of the PartyGaming PLC's business plan one of the big players residing in Gibraltar.
Another thrilling story is the legend of Stuart "Stuey the kid" Ungar: He was called the boy king of Vegas Poker. His life was short an excessive he won several million dollars and lost them spending the money without control for drugs destroying his familiar life and his health. A new biography of the world's most famous poker player has been written by Nolan Dalla and Peter Alson. The book with the title: 'One of a kind. The Rise and Fall of Stuey "the kid" Ungar, the Greatest Poker Player', has been released on the U.S. book market in June 2005.
